When you do a group interview, be the most outgoing, talkative and fun loving person possible. Apple wants a go getter not a sheltered person who is afraid to speak up, talk, laugh and crack jokes. If you're afraid to talk in a group setting how are you going to be able to communicate to a customer.
    Hope this helps.

I'm new to this so I don't know if I quoted this correctly =)
AFPoster is right. I just recently went to one but I think there was some age discrimination there because I was the only one in High School who showed up. I don't get it though, the recruiting seminar went great and I made a lot of the people laugh, I was talkative but just today got the email of death saying that they turned down my application.... What did I do wrong?!?!?!?

Does anyone know "if" or when a refresh for Time Capsule 1T is coming out? It has been some time now, and I have read users have had issues with it.

Some users have had their hard drives go out, losing their data after about 1.5 years of use. It is in multiple feedback entries on Apple's Store site...

Any thoughts? I would like to purchase one, but I am reconsidering...would like some advise. Thanks

I'm so glad that "Are you sure" is built into 10.2. I must have hit Restart instead of Shutdown, or Restart instead of Sleep, at least 20 times in 10.1, and at least another 10 times in 10.2. This feature has saved me at least 30 minutes in computer usage and about $60 in hard Pro Mouse ass-kicking.

I'm just really learning about this type of technology, so I'm curious: what makes a SSD different when erased compared to a traditional disk-spinning HD? I had always heard that, with a traditional HD, even if you erased/reformatted the drive and threw it away that some savvy tech types could somehow either restore your drive or get file fragments to get information, etc? Maybe that's just paranoid urban myth, but that's what I had always heard. What, technologically speaking, makes a SSD different in terms of not retaining old data when erased? Just curious.

The solar fireworks at the weekend were recorded by several satellites, including Nasa’s new Solar Dynamics Observatory which watched its shock wave rippling outwards.

Astronomers from all over the world witnessed the huge flare above a giant sunspot the size of the Earth, which they linked to an even larger eruption across the surface of Sun.

The explosion, called a coronal mass ejection, was aimed directly towards Earth, which then sent a “solar tsunami” racing 93 million miles across space.

Images from the SDO hint at a shock wave travelling from the flare into space, the New Scientist reported.
Experts said the wave of supercharged gas will likely reach the Earth on Tuesday, when it will buffet the natural magnetic shield protecting Earth.

It is likely to spark spectacular displays of the aurora or northern and southern lights.
"This eruption is directed right at us," said Leon Golub, of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA).
"It's the first major Earth-directed eruption in quite some time."

Scientists have warned that a really big solar eruption could destroy satellites and wreck power and communications grids around the globe if it happened today.

Nasa recently warned that Britain could face widespread power blackouts and be left without critical communication signals for long periods of time, after the earth is hit by a once-in-a-generation “space storm”.
The Daily Telegraph disclosed in June that senior space agency scientists believed the Earth will be hit with unprecedented levels of magnetic energy from solar flares after the Sun wakes “from a deep slumber” sometime around 2013.

It remains unclear, however, how much damage this latest eruption will cause the world’s communication tools.
Dr Lucie Green, of the Mullard Space Science Laboratory, Surrey, followed the flare-ups using Japan's orbiting Hinode telescope.

"What wonderful fireworks the Sun has been producing,” the UK solar expert said.
“This was a very rare event – not one, but two almost simultaneous eruptions from different locations on the sun were launched toward the Earth.

"These eruptions occur when immense magnetic structures in the solar atmosphere lose their stability and can no longer be held down by the Sun's huge gravitational pull. Just like a coiled spring suddenly being released, they erupt into space.”

She added: "It looks like the first eruption was so large that it changed the magnetic fields throughout half the Sun's visible atmosphere and provided the right conditions for the second eruption.
"Both eruptions could be Earth-directed but may be travelling at different speeds.

“This means we have a very good chance of seeing major and prolonged effects, such as the northern lights at low latitudes."link (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/7923069/Nasa-scientists-braced-for-solar-tsunami-to-hit-earth.html)

Watch for the Aurora Borealis tonight if you have clear skies!

I actually want to play that snowboarding game (name escapes me).

You're probably talking about SSX Blur.

The scramble started around January for dev kits. It's going to be a while but there is going to be a surge of games coming. For better (variety) or worse (most will probably be crap).

I'm actually looking forward to all these crap games. I figure crap games are what gave the PS1 its dominance in the market over the N64. Your average consumer says, "Platform A has more games than platform B, so it must be better," despite the quality of the games. At least that's what I remember people saying back in the N64 days.

And with the bad games, and more market share, the good games will find their way to the platform. Plus, maybe we'll see some interesting stuff from smaller developers.

For now - in MAC OS X 10.6.7, I have found the answer.

The answer is: the parental controls. When parental controls are off then, the IMac will fall asleep.

....i still need more concrete clarification on whether to trademark or copyright the logo for my company..)

Do you understand that you already own the copyright for your logo design?

Registering the copyright is both cheap and easy so it's worth doing as it does give you some additional leverage in protecting your rights as the owner of the copyright.

Hi, thanks for the responses.about the canon lenses: I use Nikon so my lenses are all black. In terms of throwing the lenses around, well I do go on travel and I do go out in the woods etc. so yes my lenses do see action and they do get small hits here and there. My old sigma 70-200 had some scratches because it fell on the ground. So yes I have seen damage to the lenses in that respect.

In terms of the lens coats, they look like they fit well but I have seen professional photographers using self adhesive tape as a layer of protection. So no glue residue left as you take it off but still that looks even worse than the lens coat :)

I'll have to re-think what I will do....

The ID is the number in the URL of your profile

    i.e. http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=1329
    1329 being the ID number.

It indicates when you joined in relation to everyone else.
