My H1b and my wifes H4 extensions were filed on 2/10 and approved on 4/1.
Depends on your job, company etc. I work in non-IT, big company and have been working there since 3 years.

My 485 app was received on July 18 at NSC, no checks cashed yet. EAD/ AP recieved on Aug 10 at NSC, got RN for EAD and AP. Is there a possibility of getting EAD card, even if 485 was not filed? One of my freinds was under the same situation, and she and her spouse got the EAD from TSC, without 485 filing.
As far as I know, it should not happen. This is bizzare...May be it was a mistake in ur friend's case...

Correct me if I am wrong...but I believe a bill has to pass in both Senate and Congress and signed by President to be enacted into law. Currently the H1/EB bills are only presented in Senate. Any comments?

Thanks, You are right I havent applied for my I485 yet. I am only concerened about when I return back to US, will there is any issues at POE due to my long absence on H1B?

You can't maintain H-1B status while physically residing in India. But, you can still have your GC process running.
An absence won't be of any consequence as long as the visa is valid and you are employed by the same employer.

First of all, sorry to open a new thread for my problem, but didn't find a related thread.
I was tested positive for genetal herpes 6months ago, but after that i didn't have any outbreaks. Now i have to go for medicals for my I485 next week.
Iam very much worried if it will effect my chances of getting GC.
Should i let the civil surgeon know iam positive for herpes and show my medical reports before he does the blood work, or should i wait till he finishes my blood work? I have read that i can apply for a waiver even if im tested positive for herpes, is it true? If so, can any body please tell me what is the procedure? Do i need to do it when we are filing for 485, or is it a separate process?
Please guide me.

Hi,
I wanted to know how critical are the tax returns for GC processing. I am asking this because i have filed the tax returns for 2006 as married even though i got married in January'07.
Now my marriage certificate reflects jan'07 and the tax return for 2006 was filed as joint.
Will this be of issue in the processing? Is there a way out from this, like readjust the tax returns?
Any help in this regard with be greatly appreciated.

Incorrect tax return will not necessarily impact your 485 application.
But knowingly filing an incorrect tax return may result in substantial fine if IRS figures it out. They do not have to necessarily find it this year - I believe an audit can be triggered anytime uptil about 7 years.
Saving 5000 dollars or so with an incorrect tax return is good if you can live in the fear of future audit for the next seven years.
The reason I stated "knowingly" filing an incorrect tax return is based on your statements. Clearly at this point you know your tax returns were wrong but because of penalty that you may have to pay, you dont want to amend it. Sure, if you are lucky , nothing will happen to you but thats not a chance I would like to take. Just my 2 cents.

If the applicant passes the preliminary processing at NBC, the application is forwarded to the District Office with jurisdiction over the applicant�s residence for an int erview and adjudication of the remaining eligibility requirements (e.g., continuous residence, physical presence, admissibility, citizenship skills, etc.). If more than one A-file exists for an applicant, files should be consolidated prior to forwarding. If filed by the applicant, EAD and advance parole requests may be processed after such applicant passes the preliminary processing. First of all you are not supposed to involve in any of the PERM process. Its plain illegal. It seems you are taking the wrong route for your porting.
I know but when there is a chance, we must make sure. Who told u that always works.
They advertise in the company's message board and recently I have seen they did not mention anything about qualifications for one EB2 GC of my friend.

Hi,
I currently have a lowtraffic website with no ads.I am planning to add some adds like googleads,yahoo adwords etc..The thing is i need to give them my ssn while regestering for them and payment check will be made on my personal name.As iam currently on H1 i am in dilemma whether i can take this payments or not.Does anyone aware of dos and donots in this case.Thank you.

I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ?
has anyone being in this situation ?

In case this get denied - should I refile or appeal? The IO had told me that I can re-file if it gets denied due to abandonment. Will re-filing create any problems?

I called USCIS and they told me to wait for 30 days and then give them a call back. If I call them after 30 days about the missing card, they might open a case for it. I am not sure how many days it will take for them to send the replacement card.
Should I go ahead and send them the replacement application for the missing EAD? any suggestions/experiences?

I went to the infopass to inquire about the "additional review" letter I got from TSC. Officer did some search and told me the following " this case is in transit to an officer TODAY, just 30 minutes before. you dont have to worry about this notice". He also said that call us back in 45 days .. I did fax all the details to the Senator but am not sure whether this resulted from the inquiry.

I received my EAD but my spouse EAD did not arrive and it has been more than 2 weeks. The status says Card production Ordered.
I have the same question should I have to wait untill the 30 days have passed to reapply for replacement ead or can I apply before?. Is there any way the process can be expedited as my spouse has to work on this EAD. Any info is really appreciated.

USCIS delays GC approvals with some reason
1.Prior to 2005 they used to delay by delaying Labor approvals

Yeah.. sometimes I've had to rework things that didn't quite work well enough the first time, broken apart.
The dialsplash above was actually the 12th attempt or so at getting that right. Initialy I was using the texture of the stone broken apart and then filled. That looked fine.. but the symbols on the timeline didn't look good at all. I ended up importing the symbols to Painter6.0, creating the wheel there, with the symbols in place, and then using the whole thing as a fill.
It may be that gifs look worse when imported than png's (ok there is no doubt that they look worse, but I mean proportionaly). That would explain why my pgn texture looked good when my gif symbols looked like crap.
I'll have to do some more experimenting with that.. just to see what the deal is.
