The poker tournament boosted nearly $50,000 for charity through online tournaments and a silent auction. A $290,000 bid was placed a 2005 Porsche Carerra GT, donated by Porsche North American Troy Hanson.

The event will become part of ESPN’s coverage of the 2009 World Series Of Poker, joining the $40,000 buy-in tournament celebrating the Series’ 40th running, the Champions Invitational, and the Main Event. Viewers can catch up into ESPN on Tuesday, August 11th to catch all of the action from the Ante Up for Africa fundraiser.
About Sara Rue: Sara Rue began her own acting career at the age of 9, performing in the film Rocket Gibraltar. Her second acting endeavor was an appearance on the television comedy Grand with celebrity poker player Cheryl Hines.
